To ease the traffic situation in the city center of Dresden after the collapse of the Carola Bridge, the Terrassenufer will be reopened from Wednesday next week.
Traffic should be diverted over the Hasenberg, but only from the state parliament towards the synagogue. Cyclists can also use the opposite direction. A complete opening of the terrace bank in both directions is not possible because the Nadelör is the crossroads of Hasenberg.
The route is also an alternative to Wilsdruffer Straße, which will be partially closed during the day between 9:30 am and 10 pm from 20 November due to the Striezelmark (opening on 27 November). At night and especially during the morning rush, Wilsdruffer Straße can be used in both directions during the Striezelmarkt until 9.30 am, according to the city administration.
In addition, in order to better manage Advent traffic, the route area on the Marienbrücke will be secured again, according to Mayor Kühn. This means that concrete barriers prevent drivers from driving over the tracks. The train has a normal route.
Overall, the city expects about 20 percent more Advent traffic.
