Intercepted on the motorway at the junction of Angri while transporting cocaine, three of them were under house arrest. Staff of the Flying Squad of the Police Headquarters Salerno proceeded to check a Lancia Y car and the three occupants on board, near the A/3 Angri Sud motorway barrier, in the Municipality of Angri, following which a tablet was found behind the driver’s seat vacuum sealed with adhesive tape, weighing 1.15 kglater revealed to be cocaine. Immediately subjected to a personal search, the three occupants of the car – all residents of Lower Nocera – were found in possession of the sum of cash of over 8 thousand euros: specifically 4,525 euros, in the possession of one of the passengers, and 3,520.00 euros, in the possession of the driver, who also concealed on himself a 9×21 caliber cartridge.
The subsequent house search carried out at the driver’s home, also extended to the car rental business he managed, allowed the discovery of the further cash sum of 2.495 euro, as well as some clearly counterfeit identity documents. The money found was subjected to preventive seizure aimed at confiscation, taking into account the evident disproportion between the amount of the sums and the subjects’ declared sources of income.
On the basis of the above, the driver and one of the passengers were arrested for the crime of transporting narcotic substances, as well as, for the driver alone, for the crime of possession and false identification documents; both, after the ritual formalities, were associated with the local prison. The other passenger was released in a state of freedom for the same criminal hypothesis, in collaboration with the other two subjects. Lastly, the driver was released on bail for the crime of illegal possession of weapons in relation to the cartridge found. The judge validated the arrests, ordering the application of the precautionary measure of house arrest for both suspects.
