Prince Kardam died today at 11.30 am. at the Sanchinaro Hospital in Madrid. His death occurred as a result of a lung infection, as a consequence of his long-term immobility. Prince Kardam experienced a serious accident in 2008, from which he was unable to recover.
At the bedside of Prince Kardam in his last moments were his parents Simeon of Saxe-Coburg and Dona Margarita, his wife Princess Miriam, Prince Konstantin Vidinski and Prince Kiril Preslavski, as well as other family members.
Kardam Skskoburggotski was born on December 2, 1962 in Madrid. He is prince of Turnovski and as the first-born son of the last Bulgarian king, Simeon of Saxe-Coburg, and as such he was also the heir to the throne and the head of the Bulgarian royal family.

The wedding took place in the Orthodox Church of St. Andrew and Dimitar in Madrid.
