The charismatic Timothée Chalamet has an interesting insight into the challenges he had to overcome on the way to his coveted film roles. The ‘Wonka’ star now faces an exciting new challenge: he will portray the iconic folk legend Bob Dylan in the biopic ‘A Complete Unknown‘. Chalamet feels a connection to Dylan and describes himself as an “outsider” in his own career until he finally found his individual style and voice.
The path to success
In a conversation with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, Timothée shared his experiences: “I’ve been through a lot that makes me identify with Bob Dylan’s journey.” He explains that Dylan always wanted to be a star in rock ‘n’ roll, and definitely did sees parallels to his own ambitions. While he’s auditioning for big film projects like ‘Maze Runner’ or ‘Divergent’, he’s repeatedly told that he doesn’t have the physique required by Hollywood. An agent even advised him to gain weight to have a better chance of landing roles. But instead of being intimidated, Chalamet found his place in “personal films” that helped him discover and express his creative flow.
At just 28 years old, Timothée Chalamet has already made impressive strides in his career and we can’t wait to see how he will interpret the role of Bob Dylan. His self-reflection and courage to follow his own path are inspiring and show that the road to fame often takes unexpected turns.
