There was almost no space left in the reformed parish hall in Dietikon on Sunday afternoon. The large audience awaited the performance of the Dietikon choir “Singers of Joy”, which took the listeners on a journey to the 1980s with the program “Love Boat”.
The ship with its singing crew dressed in bright colors headed to a variety of destinations. The song “Voyage Voyage” already created a holiday mood. From France we continued with the song “Africa”. People enthusiastically sang and clapped along to the well-known hits.
An announcement by Captain Viktor Seewald, who led the audience through the program, announced the arrival in Asia after a varied journey. With the rousing beat of the song “Eye of the Tiger”, boxing moves and a confetti bomb at the end of the song, everyone was captivated by Tokyo.
On-board catering was not neglected
Anyone who needed on-board catering during all the hustle and bustle could enjoy cakes and drinks at the Flamingo Bar. The love boat made its way through stormy thunderstorms and calm seas. Here you could reminisce with the bright, clear voice of soloist Irina Eichberg with “Total Eclipse of the Heart” or “Ebony and Ivory”.
Whether slow, fast, English, German, French, Italian – there was something suitable for everyone. The program was deliberately put together this way, explained Bettina Hiese, who conducts the wild troupe together with Marcel Hischier and started planning the whole thing a year and a half ago.
The individual elements of technology, choreography and moderation were put together for the first time in the main rehearsal. The interaction worked perfectly, and Hiese was very happy with how the concert went: “It’s really cool when the audience joins in like that,” she said.
Listener Deborah Büschler from Affoltern am Albis was also carried away by the good mood. “The music was upbeat and super infectious,” she said. Viewers will have a chance to get involved in the adventure presented on November 23rd in Baden and again on November 30th in Dietikon.
