Connor Bedard is the player who makes the difference for the Chicago Blackhawks. It is true that his output of three goals and ten assists in 16 games is not as good as last season, when he already had nine goals and six assists at the same time.
Nevertheless, he made it clear once again that he feels very comfortable alongside the German Lukas Reichel. “He’s good. He’s obviously a great player and someone who gets better with every game. And it’s a lot of fun to play with him and watch how fast he is, how much skill he has. He can influence practically every game. So it’s really fun with him.”
Reichel has made twelve appearances this season and has one goal and five assists. Veteran Nick Foligno, who also plays in a line with Reichel, also praised the German’s abilities and spoke highly of him: “I told him not to give in just because he now has another player in his line. It’s you, you have the ability to make plays and do things with the puck that not a lot of guys can do. So trust yourself. You know you can be a no-nonsense player.”
According to Blackhawks coach Luke Richardson, it’s normal for a lineup to change from time to time: “As players, you have to find a way to get the puck in the net, no matter who you’re playing with. And our job is to figure out who might work best in which scenario.”
