The American people spoke out in the presidential elections, placing their trust in Donald J. Trump, who will become the 47th President of the United States. We extend our congratulations to him and wish him every success in the exercise of his duties. We hope that his administration will work for the common good, respecting the fundamental rights of all, including those of immigrant communities.
To recently arrived fellow Mauritanians: we encourage you to get in touch with community leaders and stay tuned. The coming months could have a significant impact on our community, particularly if the mass eviction program announced by the President-elect comes to fruition.
We remind those who hold temporary driving licenses that it is imperative to respect the laws in force, in particular by refraining from driving without being accompanied by a person holding a permanent license, as required by regulations.
It is also essential to avoid crowds in public places, gatherings on stairs, and to always cross streets at pedestrian crossings. By adopting exemplary conduct, we help to preserve the image of our community.
Finally, for those who wish to learn English or who are facing economic difficulties, we invite you to visit our community centers in Columbus or Memphis. We regularly organize food distributions there and offer various social support services.
Thank you for your attention,
