Wayanad, Chelakkara By Election: Quiet campaign today; Wayanad and Chelakkara to the polling booth tomorrow

The month-long by-election campaign ended yesterday. These are the final hours of the silent campaign.

In Chelakara and Wayanad, where the by-elections will be held tomorrow, activists will conduct a silent campaign from house to house to get the final votes. The candidates are also currently meeting with as many voters as possible to confirm their votes. Booth level squad work will be done today with model voting machines to introduce them to new voters as well. At the same time, the main program of the candidates is meeting with civic leaders to ensure support.

The distribution of voting materials will start from eight o’clock in the morning in different places. The distribution will be completed by noon. As the campaign draws to a close, the LDF and the UDF are confident of victory.

A public holiday was declared in Wayanad district on November 13 due to the holding of Lok Sabha by-elections. The government has announced a holiday for all government-public institutions and educational institutions in the region. According to the Negotiable Instruments Act, there will be a holiday in the district on that day.

It is recommended that all private commercial and industrial establishments and other private establishments should provide employees with paid leave. Apart from this, all the employees of government and private institutions who have votes in the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituencies, Chelakkara, where by-elections are being held but who are working in- out of the constituencies, the paid holidays on this day.

The Labor Department has issued an order allowing the employees of private institutions to vote in the by-elections to be held on November 13 in the Wayanad Lok Sabha and Chelakara constituencies.

Employers should give special permission to those employed outside their own area to go to the polling station in their own area to vote on polling day. Leave with pay applies to daily/daily workers in all private establishments including IT and plantation.

Along with this, the government has declared a public holiday for all government-public institutions and educational institutions in Eranad, Vantur and Nilambur constituencies of Malappuram district. According to the Negotiable Instruments Act, these constituencies will also have a holiday on that day.

All private commercial and industrial establishments and other private establishments shall permit paid employees. In addition to this, all employees of government and private institutions having votes in Wayanad and Chelakkara constituencies where by-elections are held but working outside the constituencies on holiday with pay on this day.
