As part of the nutrition training project, state agents are being trained in Doba in Eastern Logone. This session organized by the NGO Santé Nutrition et Résilience takes place from November 11 to 13, 2024.
This training workshop aims to strengthen the capacities of civil servants and state agents from different decentralized services from the six departments as well as provincial delegates on knowledge of food and nutritional resources. The president of the NGO Sahel Health Nutrition and Resilience, Sansan Dimanche, reported that malnutrition persists in Chad and that each year the country loses 9.5% of its GDP because of this disease. All this is due to the misuse of our food resources, he says.
According to the president of Sahel Health Nutrition and Resilience, malnutrition causes cognitive deficiencies leading to the loss of the ability to know and create. This is how, he concludes, the government has become aware of the situation by setting up infrastructures for the coordination of nutrition and also the FORMANUT program which intends to provide knowledge to Chadians to better fight against malnutrition.
The provincial delegate of Agriculture for Eastern Logone, Ouya Odile welcomes the initiative of the NGO Sahel Health Nutrition and Resilience. For her, these three-day meetings will allow participants to exchange, learn and strengthen their capacities in the field of nutrition. She also calls on participants to be active and diligent.
In the same wake of this workshop, the heads of the various public health services in the province of Logone Oriental are trained, for their part, over eight days.
