In an investigation coordinated by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Powerabout one hundred carabinieri of the Company Council Hall and financiers of Potenza have carried out an order issued by the investigating judge of Potenza with precautionary measures against 23 people of both provinces for drug dealing and other crimes. The suspects were subjected to various measures (detention in prison, house arrest, obligation to sign, bans from business activity).
Also performed seizure of approximately 100,000 eurosequal to the alleged illicit profit. The main area is anti-drug, concentrated in Vallo di Diano and in particular in Sala Consilina, where a network of promoters and dealers has been rebuilt. During the investigation they were seized 2.1 kilograms of hashish hidden in an impervious countryside environment. Crimes against the public administration are also contested. An episode concerns the corruption of a prison police officerwho was serving in the Potenza prison, who allegedly favored prisoners in exchange for goods and benefits delivered to him.
Another trend concerns the establishment of companies registered in the name of nominees, with which the suspects evaded the financial prevention measures imposed on them, and concerns the fictitious hiring of workers, defrauding the INPS because these false employment contracts allowed a series of obviously not due benefits to be recognised.
