Nemo not only won the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 for Switzerland with the song “The Code”. No, Nemo also took home the MTV Europe Music Award as “Best Swiss Act” last night, beating names like Faber and Stress.
The MTV EMA’s are decided via audience voting on the Internet and were broadcast live yesterday. The show was created from the Co-op Live Arena sent in Manchester.
Although Nemo wasn’t present on the show, he thanked him very much in a video that was also published on Instagram:
Various other artists who we already know from the ESC environment were also nominated for the regional awards:
- For France Slimane was nominated, who came 4th at the ESC in Malmö in 2024. The winner was Pierre Garnier, who some French fans would also like to see at the Eurovision Song Contest.
- For Italy Angelina Mango (7th place at the ESC 2024 with “La Noia”), Mahmood (2nd place with “Soldi” 2019 in Tel Aviv) and Annalisa (3rd in Sanremo 2024) were nominated. Annalisa won the title after recently winning the “Aussievision Top 100 National Final Countdown” with her title “Sincaremente”.
- For Israel Noa Kirel (3rd place with the song “Unicorn” in Liverpool 2023) was nominated and successfully won the title “Best Israeli Act”.
- For Spain Lola Indigo, who took part in the Spanish preliminary competition “Operación Triunfo” in 2017, was nominated. She won the MTV Europe Music Award for “Best Spanish Act”.
However, the biggest winner of the evening has no connection to the ESC at all. Superstar Taylor Swift took home four prizes.
