Amaliada: Panagiotis’ toxicologists spoke – What they showed – The case is in Homicide –

Stormy developments in the case with the dead children in Amaliada.

According to the latest information, the file with the case of the dead babies in Achaia and Amaliada is in the hands of the Homicide Department of Attica Security.

Officers from the Ilida Security Department, who have taken over the preliminary investigation into the deaths, contacted the prosecutor, who according to information, is expected to put the case file in the hands of the experienced officers of the Homicide Department.

The officers of the Homicide Department will investigate the circumstances of death, both of Irini Mourtzoukou’s children, who died in 2022 and 2023, and of little Panagiotakis, who died in August 2024.

It is expected that all the persons involved will be called to testify, but the medical examiners who had these files in their hands, as well as the doctors.

Panagiotis’ toxicologists “spoke” – What did they show?

According to the latest information from SKAI, it seems that the toxicology tests of little Panagiotakis, one of the dead babies in Amaliada, came out clear, with the result that no criminal action has been taken against the 15-month-old baby.

The file with the total complaints for 5 children has now been taken over by a prosecutor and, in any case, the investigation is not going to stop, as no one can rule out any scenario.

According to the medical examiner Mr. Kalenderis, the histological tests will take more time while “special experts and technical advisors will certainly have to be appointed in the case”.

As for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, which Amalia’s babies are also referred to, it accounts for only 0.012% – 1.2 per 10,000 births of infant deaths, an exceedingly rare event.

“When this occurs in a close environment and even five times, you realize that this statistic exceeds the theory of probability that it is responsible for all 5 different cases,” said the medical examiner.

Awaiting the histological examinations

The investigations into the case with the dead infants in Amaliada and Achaia are in full progress.

The latest information states that the Deputy Prosecutor of the District Court of Ilia requested a preliminary examination to be carried out, in order to investigate whether the crime of manslaughter with any kind of malice has arisen for little Panagiotis who died at the age of 15 months.

As Vassilis Lambropoulos said speaking to Mega, there is no documented evidence from the medical examiner’s point of view that the deaths of the infants are due to a criminal act.

The histological and toxicological tests of little Panagiotakis, the child who died in August 2024, are expected to shed light on whether it was a criminal act or not.

Vassilis Lambropoulos clarified that if nothing is found, then despite the testimonies that have seen the light of day, the case will probably be closed.

“The death of Panagiotis will reveal what happened to the other deaths as well”

Tasos Dougas, lawyer for the family of little Panagiotis, spoke on the show about the latest developments.

“A new cycle of depositions has opened and all witnesses must testify to the authorities. In addition, we await the results of the blogs. Panagiotakis’ grandmother testified yesterday. The death of Panagiotis will reveal what happened to the other deaths as well. I do not want to comment because Irini has not yet been called to testify. At some point I believe he will be called. The child’s mother will also testify next week. I would not like to say anything publicly about whether or not my principal has received threats.”

“It is a very important find (blood & foam). The external factor cannot be ruled out but every day it is confirmed. The girl in front is specific when she talks about what happened, she has said about bruising and lack of oxygen. The foam is consistent with this process,” said the medical examiner, Grigoris Leon.
