Almere City FC did not produce any results in the home match against Feyenoord. It managed to keep the match exciting for a long time, but to no avail. In the final phase Feyenoord went 1-4, the Almere goal was scored by Kornelius Hansen.
The first ten minutes are packed with spectacle and contain three goals. Feyenoord leads 1-2 after that opening phase, after already being 0-1 ahead thanks to a quick goal from Inbeom Hwang.
Moments later, Junior Kadile taps the ball away from the feet of a Feyenoord defender, after which Kornelius Hansen can shoot straight at goal. He is extremely cool-headed and scores the 1-1 goal. But Feyenoord has a quick answer when Igor Paixao makes it 1-2.
The match then enters calmer waters, and a phase begins in which City is no inferior to the opponent. However, there are not too many opportunities for either goal. Twenty minutes before the end, Feyenoord nevertheless takes distance. Thomas Beelen puts the Rotterdam team at 1-3 after a few messy situations, Anis Hadj Moussa’s 1-4 then decides the match definitively.
Almere City FC now has to wait two weeks for the next competition match. After the international break, there will be two away matches in a row, against Go Ahead Eagles and against NAC Breda. Keep an eye on the club’s social media and website for ticket information.
