Finnentrop. The “Komödie am Altstadtmarkt” ensemble from Braunschweig will perform the play “Suddenly Shakespeare” in the Festhalle Finnentrop on Thursday, November 14th at 8 p.m.
The play is based on the novel of the same name by bestselling author David Safier. The Bremen writer has celebrated numerous successes in recent years. His novels, including “Mieses Karma”, “Jesus Loves Me”, “Happy Family” and “MUH!”, achieved millions of copies at home and abroad.
In “Suddenly Shakespeare,” the lovesick Rosa is transported to a previous life via hypnosis. Into the body of a man who is dueling: William Shakespeare. The year is 1594, and Rosa is only allowed to return to the present when she finds out what true love is.
Not an easy task: As a man in 16th century London, she not only has to deal with love-crazed admirers, but also with Shakespeare himself, who is not happy about a woman controlling his body. And while the two squabble in their shared body, the strangest love story in the history of the world develops between them.
Tickets are available in the Finnentrop town hall (rooms 12 and 13), on Tel. 02721 / 51 21 50 and Tel. 02721 / 51 21 51 and via the order form on the Homepage of the Finnentrop cultural community and at the box office.
