Closure of the A709 for renovation works
In the night of November 12 at 9 p.m. until November 13 at 6amtraffic on the A709 will be interrupted in the direction of Nîmes, near Montpellier, due to major road renovation work.
Access ban and diversion routes
Road users heading towards Nîmes will have to avoid this axis during the closure period. Traffic will be completely blocked between the Montpellier-Ouest (n°31) and Montpellier-Est (n°29) exits. During the night, motorists will be directed to the S14 and S10 diversion routes, which will take them to the Montpellier-Est exit to return to the motorway.

This renovation project extends over a distance of 20 km, connecting the Vendargues and Saint-Jean-de-Védas interchanges. To reduce the impact on users, the work takes place only at night, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.. This strategy aims to guarantee smooth traffic flow during the day and thus avoid congestion during rush hours.
A significant investment to improve security
The financing, totaling 11 million euros, is supported by Vinci Autoroutes. This budget will make it possible to carry out a complete renovation of the roadway on a particularly busy route on the outskirts of Montpellier. In addition to the renewal of the road itself, additional work will be carried out to strengthen safety and improve driver comfort. Users will be able to benefit from a renovated track by the end of the work, scheduled for the end of November.
