Bronny James, the son of LeBron James, made his NBA debut a few weeks ago alongside his father, and later scored his first point in the competition.
However, the rookie is set to split his time between games for the Lakers in the NBA and the South Bay Lakers in the G League. Yes, Bronny will spend some time in the Development League. This league features 31 teams, all but one affiliated with an NBA team, and uses them to train and develop players who are later promoted to the main team and to allow for rotations.
In his first game at the South Bay Lakers, his team won 110-96. James played 31 minutes and had 6 points and 4 assists. He was strong in his defensive role, but missed many attempts, as noted by Sporting News.
While this may seem like a partial downgrade for the 20-year-old player, most analysts believe this will be good for Bronny, as he will have more time to develop his skills, after some media outlets even said he was “destined to fail” before the start of his season.
