The Lions scored 19 unanswered points to beat the Texans and achieve their eighth win of the season

MEXICO CITY 10-Nov-2024 .-Jake Bates connected a long 52-yard field goal, which almost touched the left post, to give the Lions their eighth win of the season.
The Detroit players jumped with excitement when they saw the three points go in and they all went to charge the kicker, who tied the game with 5:01 remaining and connected on another 58-yard field goal to give Detroit the victory 26-23 in on the Texans when the clock was at zero.
Detroit dropped its mark to 8-1 after waking up in the second half, as the Texans led 23-7 at halftime.
The Texans’ offense became ineffective in the last two quarters, and then came 19 unanswered points from the visitors in the third and fourth quarters.
Jared Goff had a night of ups and downs, with 240 yards, two touchdowns and five interceptions, but that was still enough for Michigan to remain at the top of the National Conference.
CJ Stroud finished with 232 yards, one touchdown pass and two interceptions, but he was limited in the second half. He was sacked four times and the Texans went 6-4.
Jahmyr Gibbs added 71 yards rushing for the Lions, while David Montgomery added another 32 yards and a touchdown.
