The prosecutor’s office with a new move against Stoyan Mavrodiev.
She has asked the court to issue a European arrest warrant for Stoyan Mavrodiev, the former manager of the Bulgarian Development Bank. This was confirmed by the Sofia City Court for “24 hours”. Since the beginning of the investigation in August, the former head of the BBR has been untraceable to the authorities.
He is accused together with Rumen Gaitanski-Valka and lawyer Ivan Georgiev for the unpaid loan for 150 million. BGN granted to Gaitanski’s company by BBR. The loan was granted in 2019, when Stoyan Mavrodiev was at the head of BBR. Gaitansky himself is accused as an instigator, and Mavrodiev as a perpetrator.
According to the investigation, Gaitansky used 46 million BGN to pay dividends, and over 26 mln. BGN went to pay debts of TPP “Varna”. Gaitanski himself spent almost 2 months in custody before being released on BGN 250,000 bail, while Georgiev has been on BGN 50,000 bail since the beginning.
So far, the court has not set a date to consider the prosecutor’s request.
