Do you need insurance for your bike?

- FEET (Bike with Electric Assistance ) whose power does not exceed 250W, and speed 25 km/h: The VAE which does not exceed either the power of 250W or the speed of 25 km/h is not subject to an insurance constraint. However, it is recommended to take out “civil liability insurance”. Indeed, if you cause an accident while riding your bike, you are responsible and you do not have any civil liability insurance, you will be obliged to assume responsibility for repairing the damage caused to others.
- VAE (Bicycle with Electric Assistance) whose power exceeds 250W, and speed 25 km/h: To the extent that the power of your VAE exceeds 250W and 25 km/h, you are required to take out civil liability insurance.
