Hertha BSC is looking for a new president. Following the death of Kay Bernstein in January, the new blue and white leader will be elected on Sunday at the general meeting in City Cube. The favorite is the interim president Fabian Drescher (42). The lawyer has four rivals, but in the last few weeks the other candidates have been more of his election assistants.
Drescher’s greatest achievement: After Bernstein’s tragic death, he took over the board’s interim management as deputy chairman. During his ten months in the temporary position, he kept the Hertha team on track. He and his colleagues did what they did, and no one made any mistakes. As a friend of Bernstein, he wants to continue his path – together and peacefully with all the residents of Hertha. The mood in the club is just like this: Hertha should finally work calmly after turbulent years. That is what Drescher means. He is not a senior leader, but a strategist. His election campaign is his job.
His rivals had to shake the election drum. They have been loud in recent weeks – sometimes with accusations, sometimes with visions, sometimes with promises. It is easy to understand, but they only help Drescher. Hertha’s soul just wants a strong rest.
Bernstein’s widow criticizes candidate Dinnebier: “Irreligious!”
The main rival Uwe Dinnebier (61), owner of a car dealership, directly attacked Drescher: “Fabian is as far away from entrepreneurial thinking as you can be 2022 there was an idea that he should create a dual leadership by Bernstein.
