While The rookie Star isn’t a big fan of turkey, his favorite Thanksgiving meal is one of the most classic dishes of the holiday. “[I love] the sweet potato, a kind of casserole with marshmallows on top,” he shares. “Sweet, creamy and just cinnamon – all the right flavors.”

Since he married Rosalyn Sanchez In 2008, winter Thanksgiving spreads included a variety of new and traditional recipes. “Since my wife is Puerto Rican, they give a different touch to everything. The flavor is fantastic,” he explains. “Puerto Rican Thanksgiving is definitely a lot more exciting to me than the American Thanksgiving that I’m used to, just offering great pies, tostones, mofongo and all those things that they do and the way they cook their food . So, I think that’s the tradition for us now. “That’s fun.”
Food aside, says Winter Us His favorite thing about Thanksgiving is the leftovers. “In fact, I think sometimes it tastes better the next day when you put it all on a plate and it’s just pureed,” he shares.
One drink that is sure to be served at this year’s winter holiday celebrations is their Palm Republic Rum. The company, with which he co-founded Brad Parkes Earlier this year, he was inspired by a trip he took to Puerto Rico to meet Sánchez’s family for the first time.

“I had never drank rum before and I thought, ‘This is really fantastic,’” he says. Us. “[It] I was inspired to start trying rums all over Puerto Rico and while traveling, I tried different rums. … It was like bringing people together. “That was the concept behind it.”
Although Sánchez, with whom Winter shares her children Sebella, 12, and Dylan, 7, does not drink, the actor says he has been “a great support” for his new business. “His whole family supported me a lot by launching me into this space because in the Caribbean rum is there,” he says. “That’s their bourbon, that’s their whiskey, that’s what they drink all the time. South America, the same. And what I have learned during this process is that rum is one of the most used liquors in the world. “

In addition to co-hosting the “He Stated, She Said” podcast with his wife, Winter has Ud.It’s just that the key to your lasting relationship is to keep things light and fun. “We both make fun of each other constantly. In general, we don’t take ourselves very seriously. I always say, ‘Look, I’m Cancer, she’s Aries.’ We shouldn’t even get along in that way,’” he jokes. “But I say I basically calm her fire enough and she’ll boil my water enough to make it interesting and fun.”
Considering that having humor in a relationship is “mandatory,” he continues: “We have our moments and then the more you get too serious and heavy about something, everything becomes more complicated. And if at some point you can even laugh at the fights, laugh at some of the stupid disagreements, everything will be a little bit easier.”
