Kosmos Comic Con is constantly reinventing itself. The grandma of all cons is now sailing along in San Diego Cruise ship through the Caribbean. And in Vienna, too, the convention has changed and been redefined over the years. So there are one or two surprises every time. This year, for example, there were great guests to see Sarah’s Scribbles by Sarah Andersen and to listen to the wonderful Elfie Donnelly.
Well, mind you Comic Con
Elfie Donnelly didn’t just invent the world of Benjamin Blümchen and Bibi Blocksberg. The Viennese (at least who grew up in Vienna) has experienced and written a lot, as a children’s book, radio play and crime writer and even as a journalist for the Austrian Press Agency APA.
In addition to Donnelly, comedians also stand out as guest stars Michael Winslow out of here. Luckily, after the cult films “Gremlins” and “Spaceballs”, he didn’t lose his voice between “Police Academy” and the “Tender Chaot” Thomas Gottschalk. Also worth highlighting: the co-inventor of “Bernd the Bread” Tommy Krappweiswho is very busy on Twitch and also in the podcast and radio play world.
VIECC Cosplay Championships
As always, the biggest stage goes to cosplay. There are two events for fans this year. They will be held again VIECC Cosplay Championshipswhich are aimed at national and international cosplayers. This competition is for a total of 3,000 euros in prize money and other non-cash prizes.
In addition to the championships, the DACH Cosplay Cup will also be held for the first time. It will be launched at the Vienna Comic Con and, after stops in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, will return to Vienna for the Grand Finale next year. There is also a Cosplay Village and a Cosplay Catwalk.
Die Vienna Comic Con (VIECC) 2024 will take place on November 23rd and 24th at the Vienna Trade Fair. The opening times are: Saturday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
