(ANSA) – MADRID, 09 NOV – Tens of thousands of people took to the streets today in Valencia to protest against the mismanagement of the ‘Dana’ which hit the region on 29 October and the floods that followed, asking for resignation of the governor of the Valencian Community, Carlos Mazòn. The protest, called by around fifty bodies and social organisations, took place peacefully. Dozens of demonstrators’ placards attribute responsibility for the poor management of the floods to the president of the region, Carlos Mazon, of the Popular Party (allied with the far right of Vox), first for the delays in raising the alarm to the population and then for the chaotic management of the emergency. The march initially took place in silence by decision of the promoters, in memory of the victims of the flood, then slogans against Mazon were raised from the procession. On the sidelines of the protest, dozens of pairs of muddy shoes were brought to the regional government headquarters. (HANDLE).
