The death toll from floods in Spain rises to 222 – Diario La Página –

The Spanish authorities raised this Sunday to 222 the number of confirmed fatalities due to the heavy torrential rains that mainly devastated the Mediterranean province of Valencia, where the death toll is 214.

The rest are seven people who died in the bordering region of Castilla-La Mancha and one more in Andalusia. 195 bodies have already been identified and 140 have been delivered to relatives.

In addition, 36,803 people were rescued from dangerous situations, 82 of them in the last few hours, according to the latest update of official data on the effects of the great flood and the serious flooding in its path on October 29.
