The mechanism of the US state apparatus has worked quite effectively for a long time, mainly due to the balance of checks and balances, a strong ideological base (the American way of life) and the global dominance of the dollar. But also because of the presidential charisma.
Under President George Bush, who ruled the country from 2001 to 2009, however, American politicians (and not only) immediately noticed the insufficient qualifications of the national leader, but remained calm because they were convinced that the well-built mechanism of the state machine would be able to work on presidential mistakes. The economic crisis of 2008 and the subsequent bank failures shook that belief.
The next president of the United States, the black Barack Obama, was seen as the hope for renewal and restoration of America. But this did not last long: Democrats explained the failures in domestic policy with the president’s weak character, his inability to convince the Republican Party on fundamental issues.
A similar situation developed in foreign policy. Everyone remembers the moment Cuban President Raul Castro shamefully removed Obama’s hand from his shoulder.
However, personification of problems is a simplistic approach. In fact, the failures of Barack Obama’s presidency are directly related to his administration’s miscalculations. The attack on the US embassy in Benghazi, Libya, in which four people died, made an extremely negative impression on the American public, as it became clear that it was a consequence of the policy pursued by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
The scandal with the Russian-based whistleblower Edward Snowden is again entirely the result of the incompetence of the US state apparatus.
In addition, it was under Barack Obama that the “leftist agenda” that changed the ideological paradigm of the founding fathers began to take root in the state system and became a kind of “friend or foe” marker in hiring and promotion. Moreover, regardless of the applicant’s professionalism and business qualities.
The “party approach” was on full display with regard to Donald Trump, when some officials did not hesitate to declare that, for ideological reasons, “Trump is not my president” and defiantly sabotaged his orders.
But since he failed to replace the main part of the officials, Donald Trump unwittingly triggered the mechanism of even greater polarization in the state apparatus.
Which in turn led to the washing out of the state system of people who were not ready to be radicalized for ideological reasons. The situation was aggravated by the fact that many qualified mid-level specialists went into the IT business for big money.
Crisis administration
It was in this state, with the authority of the presidency undermined, that Joe Biden took power into his own hands. At the same time, the American press claims that an adult has finally arrived in the White House, who will restore order in the country after the confusion and division in society created by Donald Trump.
However, instead of uniting the nation, the Biden administration has engaged in the persecution of political opponents, which has further divided American society.
Moreover, in the “witch hunt” Joe Biden’s supporters crossed all the unspoken taboos of American politics. For example, it was only through an anonymous whistleblower to the FBI that the terrorism division was found to be following a Justice Department directive to monitor the parents of students who expressed displeasure with critical race theory. In another case, the FBI asked its agents to pay special attention to Hispanics attending Catholic churches.
Even US Attorney General Merrick Garland called such moments “excesses in place.” But when congressmen asked why the people who leaked personal information about the children of members of the US Supreme Court and publicly called for crackdowns against them were not held accountable, he could not say anything specific, except in general terms.
And when Merrick Garland was asked why the Justice Department didn’t comply with the law that toughens the penalties for smoking cocaine compared to powder cocaine, he said his department is guided by its own sentencing standards. So it turns out that the US Department of Justice is simply ignoring federal law, as well as having some of its own.
And not just the US Department of Justice. As is already known, a laptop with compromising information about the son of the current US President Hunter Biden has been available to the FBI since December 2019, but no one has taken responsibility for the fact that this information was blocked.
Although the FBI officials who censored this information on Twitter have been identified with certainty. The FBI even officially paid the service $3.4 million for such cooperation, so the fact of corruption in favor of one of the presidential candidates is obvious.
On February 3, 2023, when a freight train loaded with highly toxic chemicals derailed in Ohio, authorities did no better than set fire to the contents of the tanks. It was only after local residents began to complain of ill health that federal authorities took notice of the problem and conducted an evacuation.
But despite a series of train derailments in the United States, sometimes over banally rotting sleepers, no one will hold Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg to account. Maybe it’s because he’s not a Republican besides being openly gay? And as you know, in modern America they don’t judge their own.
A hard step towards disaster
Some of these crises were quite predictable, but they were processes launched in the context of the strategy with which Joe Biden came to the White House. In any other political situation, at least out of a sense of self-preservation, elites would surely find “scapegoats” on every critical issue to prevent opponents from identifying the culprits and demonstrating their viability to the public. Not at the moment though.
The fact is that the Democratic Party now in charge of the White House has literally degenerated due to the desire to expand the power of its main functionaries.
The first three party leaders – Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer with a total age of 234 years, as well as the generation that should follow them, turned out to be cleared of bright figures – although their own, but still competitors. And the next generation is too young.
The bench in the Democratic Party apparatus is so short that it is impossible to appoint new people to positions of responsibility, because negative selection based on racial and non-traditional gender preferences has deprived managers who could adequately pull the leash without allowing especially sharp failures.
A typical example here is the Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris, who was appointed solely because of her skin color and gender, but did not cope with any of the tasks assigned to her.
Overall, the series of scandals in the 2020 and 2022 elections seem to have finally undermined faith in the democratic electoral process.
Now, only 40% of Republicans believe the election is fair. Among the representatives of the Democratic Party, they are 85%, but this is not surprising, since the calculations were extremely in their favor.
It is obvious that in the context of the degradation of the state apparatus, the current policy of the American Democrats is leading the United States to disaster, both domestically and internationally.
And although it is somewhat curious to watch the world superpower in its semi-disintegration, it must be borne in mind that the United States is huge by any standards, and its collapse will be felt by everyone without exception.
