Days off during the DEL season? This is a rare commodity for ice hockey professionals. 56 main round games have to be played within six months, and there is not even a break during the Christmas holidays. The current international break is all the more valuable for the employees of the DEL clubs, as long as they are not required in their national teams. An overview like that Augsburg Panther used the break:
Mark Keller The Panthers’ 1B keeper flew into the sun with his wife and little daughter. In Antalya, Turkey, the young family is enjoying the last warming rays before there will be a long winter, at least for dad, in which most of the light will come from the ceilings of the DEL stadiums.

Leon van der Linde The defender from Lindau does it right – and has a good time. He made himself comfortable in a wellness resort in the Allgäu with his partner. Means: lots of sauna, lots of steam bath, lots of nice and cozy. Things will get stressful again soon enough.
Max Renner The Rosenheim defender likes to be down-to-earth in the service of the AEV: The 32-year-old went on a hiking tour with his wife and child – and made himself popular within the house because he carried the offspring on his back. The outnumbered specialist will probably have more than enough work to do in the rest of the DEL season.

Mark Zengerle The Panthers’ American striker looked around Verona – and, like the old-school romantic, paid a visit to the legendary balcony of Romeo and Juliet. As is well known, the Shakespeare drama takes place in the northern Italian city. The supposedly original balcony, which plays a major role in the tragic love story, is one of the city’s tourist hotspots. And of course Zengerle looked at it as well as the Verona Arena, the large amphitheater in the heart of the old town.

Chris Collins Culture, on the other hand, is also very important to Chris Collins. Sun too. That’s why the Panthers’ next US striker logically went to Athens. In the Greek capital, the 32-year-old and his partner took a tour across the city. They were particularly impressed by the Anafiotika district, located on the north-eastern slope of the Acropolis. What couldn’t be missed was, of course, a visit to the Acropolis itself. The city fortress of ancient Greece has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. But who do you tell?

Riley McCourt The 23-year-old defender also decided to get some sun – and flew to Malta. It’s a pleasant 22 degrees on the small Mediterranean island south of Italy. Swimming is obviously good – and jumping into the sea from the rocky cliffs is especially good. Row after row, McCourt shows how he jumps into the sea from the rocky coast of the fishing town of Marsaxlokk. A jump is titled “Woooo, he says”. That says everything.
Dennis Endras International break? Which break? This applies to the Augsburg Panthers’ goalkeeping coach, Dennis Endras. As is well known, he is also required during the DEL interruption and acts as the national goalkeeping coach. Endras himself is still very familiar with the DEB, was a national goalkeeper for years and won silver as a substitute at the Olympics in 2018. During the international break he looks after the German goalkeeping trio Maximilian Franzreb, Dustin Strahlmeier and Arno Tiefensee. Afterwards, with new motivation and international experience, he goes to Augsburg, where his successors in the AEV team are called Strauss Mann and Markus Keller.
