Today, Sunday 10 Novembera Rome the first ecological Sunday of the 5 plannedwith the relative blockage of circulation for all internal combustion engine vehicles in the ‘Green Band’ with the methods indicated in theORDINANCE n. 129 dated 8.11.2024. Traffic stops are expected from 7.30am to 12.30pm and from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.
This year too, on the occasion of Ecological Sunday, a long city event is planned Via dei Fori Imperiali from 10am to 7pm in five stations – clearing Via di S. Pietro in prison, Gardens of Trajan’s Forum, Piazza SS. Luca and Martina, take Via Alessandrina e clearing Tourist information point – with a program of shows for children with clowns, stilt walkers and jugglers, gospel concerts, jazz, Balkan music e di Brazilian percussion, marching bandsensemble of guitarists and flutists, an orchestra with instruments made from recycled objects, theater from cabaret performance of acrobatic breakdancing, traditional dances, african dance and a parade of dancers in animal disguises.
The detailed program was prepared by Zètema through a tender with which the proposals of the cultural associations Alt Academy, Circo Verde, Finisterre, Clivis and Officina delle cultures were selected.
“Ecological Sundays, established as measures that contribute to the prevention and containment measures of air pollution by implementing the indications of European, national and regional regulations, are an important opportunity to raise awareness on the issues of environmental sustainability and on the actions necessary to limit and improve the quality of the air we breathe. Fundamental actions for the protection of our health also in light of the alarming data on mortality and diseases due to environmental pollution and for achieving the climate neutrality objectives set by the European Union. That’s why, as we did with the ‘Blue Saturday’, the day dedicated to walkingwe wanted to accompany ecological Sunday to a great city event proposing, after the great participation success of the last edition, a program of events to involve citizens on these issues and offer the opportunity for a day of collective reappropriation of the city with moments of sociality and entertainment for every age group” declares Sabrina Alfonsi, Councilor for Agriculture, Environment and Waste Cycle of Rome Capital.
The other scheduled Sundays are December 1st 2024, January 26th, February 16 e March 23 2025.
