/ world today news/ With procedural gripes, the ruling majority in the National Assembly tried not to come to consideration of a declaration of the Bulgarian parliament, with which Bulgaria must recognize the Armenian genocide in the Ottoman Empire.
The declaration proposed by “Ataka” should have been the first item on the MPs’ agenda for Friday. Such a decision was taken yesterday by the majority in the plenary hall during the voting of the weekly program.
It was accepted to a large extent surprisingly and after a re-vote, and in the first vote the request to include such a declaration in the agenda was rejected.
Today there was a reversal in the plenary hall, as at the request of the <a href="https://www.world-today-news.com/atanasova-spoke-with-whom-she-will-regulate-the-gerb-soon-after-the-elections/" title="Atanasova spoke with whom she will regulate the GERB soon after the elections”>Reform Bloc and GERB, two other points were moved as first and second for tomorrow’s meeting. Thus, the declaration of the Armenian Genocide remained only third on the agenda. Tomorrow’s plenary session will last only two hours, as the regular Friday parliamentary control begins at 11:00.
Thus, before arriving at the declaration of the Armenian Genocide, the deputies of the Bulgarian National Assembly will first consider changes to the Law on the Ownership and Use of Agricultural Lands, introduced by Rumen Hristov from the Reform Bloc, and changes to the Law on Financial Instruments Markets, introduced by Ministerski advice. The second bill must be voted on in a second reading, which means that its examination and vote has the possibility of taking even longer. The inclusion of these two items before the item on the Armenian Genocide was also supported by some of the parties that yesterday voted “for” the inclusion of the declaration in the agenda.
“And other times it has happened that the rulers reneged on their word and votes on similar issues. I don’t know who called whom on the phone and from where to humiliate this act. I want to tell you that this is a great disgrace”, declared from the rostrum the MP from “Ataka” Prof. Stanislav Stanilov.
The inclusion of the amendments in the Law on Financial Instruments Markets was defended by Menda Stoyanova from GERB with the argument that these changes have been delayed for a long time, and by the end of April “public companies are unable to do their work and exist”.
Tomorrow is the day of worship in front of the Armenian martyrs who died in the genocide – 1.5 million people, Stanilov said. He recalled that yesterday the declaration was included as the first, not by chance, so that it could actually be examined. “Why are you changing the item, you are scandalously changing it, because you know very well that tomorrow in Yerevan the heads of the European countries are meeting. Mrs. Merkel will also be there, and you are changing the item on the agenda, this is scandalous,” he insisted.
