Gelderland singer Emma Luca won the final of the Regional Song Contest tonight. With the number Illusion she scored 193 points in the Theater and the het Vrijthof in Maastricht.
With this she got 22 points more than Merlijn Dewasme from Overijssel Adam. Dominique de Bont from North Brabant finished third with the song How were we?.
‘no cheating’
Emma Luca from Doetinchem received the highest score from the professional juries. They are made up of composers, songwriters and artists from different regions. if the public, who could follow the event through the regional broadcasters, were also allowed to vote. The majority of public votes went to the Groningen entry Trap Aan! with the number In the pit.
“Very cool, very cool,” the Gelderland singer said of her victory. “It’s not an illusion, I think, I hope. Maybe I’ll wake up soon.”
The Regional Song Competition was held for the second time this year. The first edition of the music event, last year in Utrecht, was won by Limburg artist Emmy Ackermans.
