Gender violence, code red and methods of contrast. It is on these issues that it will focus the study day promoted by the Cur for next November 25th.
In the name of the Istanbul Convention, in fact, the law department of the University of Ferrara and the Rovigo police headquarters are organizing a study meeting on the occasion of the “International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women”. The initiative is supported, with their patronage, by the Municipality of Rovigo, the bar association, the Cur, the Union of Italian criminal chambers-Rovigo section, Aiaf Veneto-Rovigo section, and the Polesine anti-violence centre.
The scientific coordination of the training initiative is carried out by Professor Ciro Grandi, coordinator of the Rovigo single-cycle master’s degree course in law, Professor Arianna Thiene and Bruno Zito, first director of the State Police and director of the anti-crime division of the Rovigo police headquarters .
The event will be held on Monday 25 November in the main hall of Palazzo Angeli. The morning session, entitled “New red code”, introduced and moderated by Grandi, will be dedicated to criminal aspects. Speakers will include lecturer Costanza Bernasconi from the University of Ferrara; the prosecutor of the Republic of Rovigo Manuela Fasolato; Marica Bozzelli, chief commissioner of the state police; and the lawyer Cecilia Tessarin of the Rovigo Bar.
In the afternoon session, entitled “The loneliness of women” introduced and moderated by Arianna Thiene, the civil and social profiles linked to domestic violence will be investigated thanks to the reports by Enrico Maestri of the University of Ferrara; by Paola Di Francesco, president of the civil section of the Rovigo court; of the lawyer Roberta Cusin, president of the CPO of the Rovigo bar association; of the lawyer Annalisa Ghisellini, legal consultant of the Polesine Anti-Violence Centre; and Chiara Boldrin, head of the social policy projects operational unit of the Municipality of Rovigo.
The event will end with the presentation of the volume “Preventing and combating gender violence: a multidisciplinary study” by professors Valentina Gritti, Elena Marescotti, Arianna Thiene, published in the “Online Annals of teaching and teacher training”.

The event is accredited by the Rovigo Bar Association with the attribution of three training credits for the morning session in generic matters and three training credits in compulsory subjects for the afternoon session. Credits will be awarded only with attendance.
