Rodger Brulotte receives great tributes

The great Rodger Brulotte is recognized for his contribution to baseball, but also for his unique voice filled with emotion. Many baseball fans cannot think of Rodger without emulating his portrayal of one of the greatest sports in the world. Whether “ Good evening, she left” or even “ Guerrero, Guerrero, Guerrero, the father, the son, the Holy Spirit”, this legendary man of multiple talents is an emblem of Quebec.

Thursday evening, Mr. Brulotte received the Jacques Beauchamp tribute presented by Sport Québec. An award recognizing an individual’s outstanding contribution to a particular sport. Baseball in Quebec is partly what it is thanks to Rodger Brulotte. Brulotte created the Quebec Baseball Federation in 1968, a little later he was president of the Quebec Junior Elite Baseball League to finally be in your ears and your television as a sports commentator.

As mentioned Benoît Rioux of the Journal de Montréalall he ever wanted was to give back and make athletes in all disciplines shine.

“It’s a wheel that turns. If we take the example of our freestyle ski champion Mikaël Kingsbury, who is once again honored this evening [jeudi]I remember very well having already given him a medal when he was younger and he played baseball in Saint-Eustache. I am particularly happy to receive the Jacques-Beauchamp prize since it bears the name of a pioneer who had an incredible impact on the world of sport. Media coverage of amateur sport would not be what it is today without the contribution of Jacques Beauchamp.” -Rodger Brulotte

Aged 77, Rodger Brulotte is one of the rare recipients of this award who was able to receive it during his lifetime. Marcel Côté, who was a pillar in the world of softball, received it posthumously, while Claude Lavoie, for his contribution to water polo, succumbed to cancer 2 months after he received the tribute.

Congratulations Mr. Brulotte!

See here the famous moment when Guerrero Jr. hit a home run at Olympic Stadium in 2018.
