The competition in the 2024 athlete election on Friday evening, organized by the Sparkasse KölnBonn, the Kreissparkasse Köln and the Generalanzeiger Bonn, was fierce. Actually, the ProB champion didn’t expect much between Olympic champions, world and European champions and German title holders. Antonio Pilipovic and Janne Müller were even more surprised when Dragons Rhöndorf came second in the “Team of the Year” vote.
In the end, the dragons only had to give way to the Bonn Capitals. After the third German Baseball Championship, the Caps were now deservedly named Team of the Year in Bonn and the surrounding area by the expert jury for the fourth time. TuS Mondorf, champions in the 2nd Bundesliga North, came third in this category.
The Dragons had one more reason to be happy: Janne Müller won another trophy as the GA Athlete of the Month for November 2023. In the end, it wasn’t enough for the young professional to be named GA athlete of the year at the Telekom Baskets Bonn, given the many competitors such as the eventual winner Lasse Lührs (triathlon), Max Rendschmidt (canoe), both Olympic champions in Paris, and other world and European champions .
