A cooking course in the Ellwanger Alemanni Museum in cooperation with the Competence Center “Home Economics and Nutrition” under the title “Cooking like the Alemanni: Enjoyable food between Lombardy and Alamannia” will take place on Friday, November 22nd, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m
Together with Hariolf Neukamm and Angelika Dörrich, the participants process local grains and fruits, mushrooms, bacon and lard into extraordinary dishes. The recipes are based on Alamannic cuisine. The ingredients are mainly limited to proven plants and fruits that have been documented from Alamannic excavations. These include useful and medicinal plants, field crops, wild fruits, wild herbs from forests and meadows, as well as farm animals, which also played a role in the Alemanni’s diet.
The food is processed and prepared in the spirit of early historical cooking and is accompanied by a guided tour of the museum. The course fee is 20 euros and includes everything. Please bring an apron, a tea towel and a leftover container. Further information can be found online at www.competencezentrum.ostalbkreis.de
