“Those who accuse S. Kasselakis of not being able to serve the Left, let the delegates decide,” urged comrades and “comrades” Manolis Kapnisakis.
In his statement, the lawyer and director of the office of the former president of SYRIZA informed that a congressman has been elected in Pagrati and it is not possible to be treated “a priori as a suspect of causing incidents” only if he wants to express his protest about a -potential temporary – exclusion from the highest body.
“Let us all reflect on our historical responsibilities” called the “so-called majority” of the party, Mr. Kapnisakis using the best-known verse from the emblematic poem “As much as you can” by Constantinos Kafavis to close his reference to the executives of the opposing wing within consecutive quotes.
Mann’s entire statement. Smoker
From the moment I assumed the duties of director of S. Kasselakis until today, I have rarely taken a public position. I did not express an opinion or make any statement, when the motion of no confidence against the legally elected President was upvoted by the K.E. and the party cut off our e-mail access from the very next morning and without even a formal notification.
Similarly, I did not position myself publicly even when comrades with whom I had collaborated and fought, exposing the corruption of the Mitsotakis government during the period 2109-2023, launched against Stefanos Kasselakis and me personally, non-existent, slanderous and unfair accusations, in their attempt to possibly mitigate the responsibilities of their own actions and/or gain an advantage in the intra-party race.
Nor, also, did I publicly comment on the information that the OM Pagratiou, in which I have been elected as a delegate, is to be excluded from the Legislation Committee.
However, today, I am forced to take a public position on an issue that goes far beyond all of us directly or indirectly involved in the internal party debates and the fate of the SYRIZA Congress. It is about the public statements of “comrades”, presidential candidates and non-presidential candidates, but also of the executives of the so-called “majority” of SYRIZA-PS about the risk of incidents and neither more nor less about the intention to commit criminal acts on the part of those who choose to protest their obstruction to participate in the Congress as elected delegates.
“Disgraceful rants that stick to an entire faction”
In other words, if I, as an elected congressman, protest against my unfair exclusion, I will be considered a priori as a suspect of causing incidents that directly endanger the life, health and integrity of my “companions”! Do the “comrades” who make these statements realize that they are adopting the arguments and rhetoric that have been used throughout the ages by the most anti-democratic exponents of conservation to prevent any democratic protest from time to time and to effectively eliminate this right to protest per se?
Such is the desire or the need of some to eliminate Stefanos Kasselakis from SYRIZA-PS, that they do not hesitate in the name of the struggles of the Left (which the “ignorant Kasselakis does not know”) to adopt practices that have been used throughout time by the worst opponents and persecutors of her, such as: “Those who protest are disturbing elements. Serious citizens are sitting at home!
Comrades and “comrades” let us all reflect on our historical responsibilities. Those of you who accuse S. Kasselakis of not being able to serve the Left, let the delegates decide. This is no longer a personal attack against Kasselakis and those who support him. We have proven that we respond to attacks with dignity, composure and stoicism. Now it’s about the embarrassing rant that sticks in an entire faction.
“And if you cannot make your life the way you want it, at least try this as much as you can: don’t degrade it.”
Kasselakis: The results are not cooked for four days
Immediately after the statement of Manolis Kapnisakis, Stefanos Kasselakis also intervened, widening the circle of confrontation with the SYRIZA organs. In his post he described the “87” as “little Trumps” and implied that they were “cooking” the election results contrary to what is happening “all over the democratic world”.
“Basic Democracy Lessons for 87 Little Trumps: All over the democratic world, election results (including voter turnout) come out overnight (by the next day 100% are counted).
This happens ALSO for reasons of validity of the elections. Election results are not cooked for four days,” he wrote.
The “Greek Dream” from his own SYRIZA
A little earlier, and while the Political Secretariat was meeting in Koumoundourou about the events of Tuesday, the staff of Stefanos Kasselakis had informed about the publication of the 5 pillars and the 18 sectors of “odikoasmasyriza”. That is, of the government scheme as he would like and has built it in his mind by his former leader in the company of his direct collaborators.
As it was said – with a clear allusion to the executives of the majority – “the party is not its mechanisms. The party is its people – its members, the citizens who support it and who are its true core”.
In the 90-page PDF, the Kasselakis team developed the “Greek Dream” as “a holistic, responsible, implementable and fully costed program” that will put an end to the “parasitic Greece of the elite few, the middle class, window appointments”.
