Yandi’s excuse was that he was a child predator for taking students to Padang, even though he was running away from the police

The police disclosed the case Yandi Supriyadi, one of the suspects in the Kunciran orphanage child abuse case, Tangerang Citydefeated. Yandi pretended to take the students to Padang, West Sumatra, when he found out he was wanted by the police.

“We from Polda Metro Jaya have been successful in arresting Yandi Supriyadi, who committed the crime against minors at Pinang orphanage, Tangerang. The perpetrator was arrested in Empat Lawang district, South Sumatra. , West Sumatra,” Chief Deputy Director Resmob Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Titus Yudho Uly told journalists, Saturday (9/11/2024).

After that, Yandi fled to Empat Lawang district, Palembang, because he knew he was being hunted by the police. Yandi went into hiding and worked on a plantation there.

Yandi was arrested on Thursday (7/11) while shopping at the market. Yandi has now been brought to Tangerang City Metro Police and is being intensively questioned.

“After that, the perpetrator went to his brother’s house in Empat Lawang. The Tangerang City Police had the investigation. We just backup detention time,” he said.

Previously, Yandi ran away after the police discovered his case and was later confirmed to have been admitted to the DPO on October 9, 2024. After almost a month of being declared a fugitive, Yandi was arrested on Thursday, November 7 2024.

In this case, the police have arrested two suspects, namely Sudirman (49) as the owner of the orphanage foundation and Yusuf (30) as an administrator. The suspects were charged under Article 6 letter C of Law Number 12 of 2022 regarding Criminal Acts of Sexual Violence and/or obscene acts against children as regulated in Articles 76E and 76I. juncto Article 82 of Law No. 17 of 2016 regarding Child Protection and/or Article 289 of the Criminal Code.

From the current data collection results, it is known that there are 18 foster children at the orphanage. Of the 18 foster children, two of them are still infants.

The number of victims is currently 8 people, and they are all men. Of the 8 victims, 5 were children and 3 were adults. Currently, the victims and foster children at the orphanage have been transferred to the temporary shelter of Tangerang City Social Service.
