Luxury Limousine Picks Up President Prabowo When He Arrives in Beijing

President Prabowo Subianto was immediately picked up by a Chinese luxury car when he arrived in Beijing. The Hongqi L5 is synonymous with cars for Chinese VVIP circles.

President Prabowo Subianto arrived at Beijing Capital International Airport on 8 November 2024 at 18.30 local time. After getting off the plane, Prabowo was immediately greeted by Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Han Jun and Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Wang Lutong.

Hongqi is a luxury car brand headquartered in Changchum, China. The manufacturer first produced cars in 1958. In that same year, Hongqi was the first manufacturer to produce cars under its own brand in China. Currently, Hongqi is the oldest manufacturer in China.

Hongqi is currently under the auspices of First Auto Work (FAW Group). The Hongqi logo means ‘red flag’ which is the symbol of the Communist Party in the Country of Bamboo Curtains. This car model was also the presidential car of Xi Jinping.

Hongqi L5 specifications

In terms of specifications, the Hongqi L5 is equipped with a V12 engine with a capacity of 6,000 cc. This machine is capable of producing up to 402 horsepower at 5,600 rpm with a maximum torque of 550 Nm at 4,000 rpm.

Power is routed through a 6-speed manual-auto transmission. The maximum speed reaches 210 km / hour. As a luxury limousine, this car provides comfort to the passengers. The upper level seats have headboards and the shape is inspired by the official hats of the Tang Dynasty. This car seat has a massage function. Hongqi claims that the comfort of this car seat is equivalent to the cabin of a private plane.

At the same time, the adjustable seat back is equipped with 5-level adjustable heating. A 6.5 inch LCD screen with a resolution of 640×480 is embedded in the headrest of each front seat.

This Hongqi L5 was also often carried by the 7th President Joko Widodo when he visited China while he was still in office. The price of this car is reported to be 5 million yuan or if converted to rupiah at the current exchange rate (1 yuan = Rp. 2,179) equal to 10.8 billion Rp.
