Tomorrow, Saturday 9 November, at Massa Marittima officially opens to the public new parking. 74 parking spaces, of which 4 reserved for disabled people, 2 for charging electric vehicles and 10 motorcycle spaces: the car park, worth 355 thousand euros, was created by the Municipality between via della Manganella and via dei Chiassarelli.
The overall cost of the works was covered by the Municipality of Massa Marittima with participation in a regional tender, which provides for periodic disbursement by the Tuscany regionof a contribution for the payment of the amortization installments of the loan taken out by the municipal administration for the intervention. The area is owned by the Province of Grosseto, usable by the Municipality for 99 years via loan for use.
“The opening of this new car park represents an important step forward in the management of urban mobility in Massa Marittima, – comments Maurizio Giovannetti, deputy mayor and councilor for Public Works – it is in fact found in one strategic positionpractically under the walls, and therefore convenient both for leaving the car and reaching the historic center on foot, and for continuing by bike to discover the cycle tourism routes, acting as an exchange parking connected to the recovery project of via dei Chiassarelli , historic route that connects Massa Marittima and Ghirlanda”.
“We will complete the redevelopment of the area where the car park was built with the intervention on the lecture –adds Irene Marconi, mayor of Massa Marittima -: work has begun on the third phase which concerns the systems, which will be followed by the fourth and final phase with finishing interventions. The parking will also be an important service for gym users.”
