Your biggest wish has come true!
Karolina Deiß is pregnant. After the tragic death of her son Leon, who died in September 2022 at just 15 months old as a result of meningitis, the 30-year-old is expecting her second child and couldn’t be happier. Why it’s not just anticipation that resonates.
No more “being a retired mom”! Karolina Deiß will soon be able to look after her second child
In July, during our last RTL interview, the path to the second desired child was still a meticulously planned plan by Karolina Deiß and her husband Alex. It is coupled with the hope that her wish will become a reality: to fill the apartment with life again, to start a new chapter, to no longer be “retired parents”. That was the motto in the summer.
Now they are certain: after the physical and mental efforts of artificial insemination in the fertility clinic, the second miracle of the Deiß family is growing in Karolina’s stomach. “I am very happy and full of anticipation”Karolina now says to RTL.

However, the journey to having a child was associated with some low blows. “Alex once had to go to hospital for an appendix and then he had a rare abdominal vein thrombosis for which he had to be treated. “It was difficult because since the tragedy we have had problems trusting hospitals and doctors we don’t know.”
The first fertility treatment starts shortly afterwards, initially unsuccessfully: the 30-year-old injects herself with hormones, but the transfer cannot take place because the progesterone level is too high. She has to pause for two cycles.
Karolina Deiß’s second attempt at the fertility clinic brings her greatest happiness
However, while they wait, the Deißs find their new home – which feels like home again even after a long time. “We feel like we have arrived here. The other apartment was like a place to escape, I immediately saw our second child growing up here and I immediately thought that Leon would like it here too,” says Karolina.
Shortly afterwards, in October, then that second attempt at the fertility clinic. The eggs were thawed, the embryo could and should mature for a few more days – and then the transfer finally took place. Karolina says: “Then I was PUPO. This is English and stands for ‘pregnant until proven otherwise’. That’s actually me until November 11th. – but because I already have the first pregnancy symptoms such as nausea or abdominal tightness, I just tested it. And all the tests I’ve done so far have been positive!”
On Friday, November 8th, after the content creator had been to the gynecologist official confirmation: That too Blood test turns out positive. She is pregnant.
Karolina is currently in the fifth week of pregnancy. It is scheduled for July 2025.
“We’re just really excited to be able to experience it all a second time. It’s a little difficult at times because we’re afraid that something will happen and we’ll have to tell our parents. Because we don’t want to take away their joy after all the sadness,” says Karolina. “I just hope everything goes well.”
Karolina is also very concerned about the fact that Leon will never get to know his brother or sister.

“It’s always worth fighting!” – Karolina Deiß wants to enjoy her second pregnancy to the fullest
What she has planned for her second pregnancy? “Lots of photos to take! I didn’t do that with Leon back then because I felt uncomfortable and didn’t like being pregnant because I just couldn’t wait until he was finally born. I always regretted that. That’s why I want to enjoy and capture everything now.”
Karolina is now looking forward to her first ultrasound because she lives “from moment to moment”. “At some point I’m looking forward to the moment when we find out what it’s going to be. But otherwise I hope every day that my baby is doing well.”
Because: The 30-year-old wants nothing more for the future than “that at some point I can go to Leon’s grave with his sibling, put flowers there and play. That’s the first thought I have when I think about the future.”

And this future cannot be taken for granted, as Karolina herself says: “I never thought we would have a future, a future where we could laugh. I wouldn’t have thought a year ago that you can now see this in front of your eyes and see a beautiful future.”
For this reason, not only she lives by the motto, but also wants to pass on to other people: Don’t give up hope! “In life it is always worth fighting and continuing, no matter how difficult it is. I fight for my family – and it paid off.”
