London announced new sanctions against Russia

On Thursday, November 7, Britain introduced another package of sanctions aimed not only against the Russian military-industrial complex, but also against its presence in Africa.

The package of sanctions against 56 legal entities and individuals is the largest that Britain has imposed against Russia over the past year and a half. When the new restrictions were announced, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer was at the EU summit in Hungary. The purpose of this event was stated to be confrontation with Russia and support for Ukraine.

London’s sanctions include Chinese and Kazakh companies that, Britain insists, supply to Russia what is used to produce drones.

London considered it necessary to include PMCs that operate in Africa in the package of sanctions. According to the British authorities, Russia, through these companies, is “destabilizing the situation on the African continent.”

Let us recall that a number of African countries demanded that European states and the United States withdraw their military contingent from their territories. More and more African countries are showing interest in joining BRICS, where South Africa is one of the founding countries, and Ethiopia has become a full member since January of this year.
