Tashkent, Uzbekistan.- The Mexican mixed martial arts team took an important step towards its first medal in the 2024 World Championship of the specialty, held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, because this Thursday Fabio César López Pérez classified the semi-finals of the strawweight category.
After imposing conditions in the first two days of the World Cup competition, the national representative enjoyed one more victory with López Pérez, who defeated the local Shukurillo Yoldashev via triangle.
“This means a great experience and emotion to highlight my academy, my state, my country and my last name. I won my fight and it is not luck, it is a preparation of a lot of time and dedication; I am going to bring a medal and, God willing, it will be a belt for the first time for Mexico,” said the Aztec fighter.
In this way, Fabio López joined María Blanco, Sergio Anaya, Jeovanni Rivadeneyra and Francisco Escobar as the Mexicans who continue in search of glory in the competition that will conclude on November 10.
