With great desire to serve the city’s population, Dr. Marco Antonio Galván García arrived as the new director of the Family Medicine Unit (UMF) No. 33 of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) in Reynosa.
“I consider myself to be a good son, husband and father. In addition, I have grown as a person,” he published on his Linkedin page.
The doctor, who was head of the Clinical Medical Department in Río Bravo, said that he is proud of this enormous commitment to continue maintaining the care provided to the beneficiaries in this unit.
It was on November 5 when Dr. Iris Elizama Requena Lara, assistant coordinator of the First Level of Care, took the protest, representing the head of the IMSS in Tamaulipas, Dr. Federico Héctor Marín Martínez.
Dr. Galván García thanked the Social Security authorities for their trust in being in charge of one of the largest medical units in the State.
This action carries great responsibility, but you must be sure that the commitment to offer better medical care every day will be fulfilled.
“At the Institute we are clear that we have a very important challenge and that we are going to face it together; “There is capacity and energy for renewal to improve the quality of care for beneficiaries,” he expressed.
Marco Antonio Galván García is a surgeon from the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas, with a specialty in family medicine also from the UAT.
He completed two master’s degrees in Health Management, and another in Education, in addition to a diploma in Clinical Bariatrics and Nutrition from the National Polytechnic.
He is currently part of the National Register of Competitiveness Model Evaluators and is certified by the Mexican Council of Family Medicine AC.
During his career he was a family doctor, head of Family Medicine services and from 2019-2024 director of UMF No. 17 of Río Bravo.
