Italian Stefano Pioli, the coach of Al-Nasr’s first football team, canceled the last mandatory training session before the match, according to sources reported to Al-Riyadiya.
Al-Nasr will face its counterpart, Riyadh, on Friday night at the City Sports City Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium, within the tenth round of the Saudi Roshan League.
After arriving at the club’s headquarters on Thursday morning, Pioli gave his players a choice between training on the main field, under the guidance of the technical staff, leaving directly from the club, and being satisfied with use of the health club.
Among the goals of the move, which has never been seen since Pioli was appointed the previous month, is to reduce the training burden on the players and break up the daily routine.
A large number of players, led by the Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, went to the Prince Abdul Rahman bin Saud Stadium and did various free training practices, followed by Pioli from the bench.
After the players had finished, Pioli told them that they were free to spend the night in their homes or in a hotel that the club had reserved several rooms for them, setting 11:00 Friday morning as the time for them to gather at the club. After an hour and 15 minutes of gathering, the Italian gives a quick technical speech to the players, in which he reveals his latest technical guide, the starting line and reserves, as well as the foreigners who are excluded from the list of matches.
Ten Al-Nasr foreigners will take part in the meeting with Pioli, who did not inform any foreign player on Thursday that he was excluded from the list.
