Another incident of intra-school violence, this time at a school in Nea Ionia. A 12-year-old student was found by his female teachers in a well at his school.

The 12-year-old victim of intra-school violence reports the incident to a 14-year-old student of the school.

How the incident of school violence happened

The incident of intra-school violence happened at approximately 10.40 am last Monday (04.11.24) in the courtyard of the school in Nea Ionia, while the students abstained from their lessons.

At that time a group of 14-year-olds approached the 12-year-old and informed him that there is a banknote inside the well.

They closed the well for him

One of the 14-year-olds convinced him to get in and immediately closed the lid. The rest of the students, instead of helping the unfortunate child, began to tease him.

There were two female teachers in the courtyard who, as soon as they realized the incident, rushed and freed the student.

Three arrests for domestic violence and exposure of a minor

The fact of the release did not prevent the arrest of the two teachers who face the charge of exposing a minor to danger. The authorities also searched for the school’s principal, but were unable to locate her.

The 14-year-old student was arrested outside his home, after he was first recognized by the 12-year-old. A case file was filed against the 14-year-old on the charge of illegal detention.

By order of the prosecutor, both the minor and the teachers were released.
