Frisco – Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott suffered a partial avulsion of his right hamstring, a person familiar with the situation told The Dallas Morning News.
Team officials are trying to determine if Prescott needs surgery on the part of the tendon that detached from the bone or if it will be able to heal on its own.
If surgery is necessary, Prescott’s season would be over. The next game is against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The initial diagnosis is that Prescott will be out for several weeks, but the quarterback is receiving more opinions to determine the severity of the tear.
