In the bonito season, the Municipality of Sozopol, “Otets Paisiy 1896” – Sozopol and “Znatsi” Publishing House organized an evening dedicated to the writer and film director Ludmil Todorov.
Lyudmil Todorov is the author of several books and winner of literary awards. He is the screenwriter and director of the feature films: “Colors in the Dark”, “Running Dogs”, “The Summer of Love of a Lochman”, “Emilia’s Friends“, “Two Men Out of Town”, “Emigrants”, “Seamstresses”, ” “The bonito migration”.
The author of one of the most beloved Bulgarian films left this world prematurely at the end of last year, but his work will continue to bring us together.
They were in the cozy atmosphere of the video club at the community center presented the new books of Lyudmil Todorov “The Ambassador” and “From the pupa to the butterfly”, with the participation of Zlatna Kostova (composer, wife of director and author) and Blush Emmanuelidou (publisher).
Immediately afterwards, the attendees had the opportunity to laugh at Ludmil’s latest film “The Bonito Migration”, which was screened in the video club – a film about human hope, however ridiculous she may seem at times.
“Messenger” contains three novels written over the past few years. The characters in this book are recognizable, as in all of Ludmil’s other books and films: they are not invented, they are noticed, watched carefully, listened to, heard, appreciated, encouraged, (not) reprimanded, comforted, encouraged, but above all and above all – loved ones. In these stories, people experience fears, doubts, joys and ecstasies, sadness, regret, remorse, falling in love… like all of us. Ludmil’s characters breathe to each of us, through each of us. “From pupa to butterfly” contains four screenplays by Lyudmil Todorov that have not yet made it to the big screen. Unfilmed. Conceived as films about love and friendship in their extreme and extraordinary manifestations.
