This important initiative, which will benefit 180 families in Aquitaine and 200 in neighboring villages, represents a great advance in improving the quality of life of these communities.

In dialogue with The Eastern Pressthe mayor emphasized the importance of inter-institutional collaboration to improve housing conditions. Thanks to agreements with the Ministry of Housing and Viva, resources have been obtained to build rural homes, improve 60 homes and build 45 new apartments on municipal land that already has the approval of the Management headed by Rodrigo Hernández Alzate. This strategic alliance has been essential to achieve these advances.

Regarding other projects, the mayor reported that the designs for the construction of a new school are progressing at 80%. It is expected that at the end of this year they will be ready to begin the procedures with the Ministry of Education and manage financing through tax works. Companies such as Argos, Alion and Nutresa have committed to supporting this project, given the urgent need to replace the current educational facility.

San Francisco has made significant progress in infrastructure. At the beginning of the year, school restaurants were equipped and it is expected to continue improving educational infrastructure with a project that is being promoted by the Eastern Business Corporation for 10 Zomac municipalities. In addition, the municipal coliseum that is making considerable progress with the Ministry of Sports and the fire station are strategic projects that are in the execution phase, with investments of 3,400 and 4,500 million pesos respectively. These works, which are expected to begin next year, will transform the quality of life of San Franciscans.

Mayor Arias Duque presented a plan to pave the 22 kilometers of uncovered road towards Aquitania. Projects have been filed to finance 6.28 kilometers with departmental royalties and 8 kilometers with national royalties. In addition, they will work together with the mayor of San Luis to pave the remaining 3 kilometers in their jurisdiction and the 5 more kilometers from the Altavista sidewalk, which is where San Francisco begins. This work, which will benefit communities historically affected by the conflict, will be financed with departmental and national resources.

Arias Duque stated that the first ten months have been a lot of management, presenting projects in search of financing, both from the national and departmental governments and from Cornare. Regarding the latter, it says that 27 projects were signed with the Environmental Corporation, for Priser programs, construction of septic wells, maintenance of streams and for the Aqueduct and Sewer Master Plan. “Although our municipality’s budget is very little, we have optimized it to the maximum to be able to contribute to co-financing, we have insisted a lot for help and officials like Javier Valencia, the Director of Cornare, have been a very attentive person. so that our municipality can have those projects that are being executed,” he stated.
