“Our client had signed up for a car insurance policy in May – explains Ivano Giacomelli, National Codes Secretary –, but at the time of signing the contract, she had not been informed of the need to proceed with the immediate installation of the telematic device, under penalty of suspension of the insurance coverage.
A few months after activating the policy, the lady realized that there were problems with payments. When she contacted the relevant agency, she discovered that it did not have insurance coverage due to the failure to install the device. We intervened with a complaint against the company and the agency, and within a few days the issue was resolved. Our client was provided with replacement insurance while waiting for the original policy to be reactivated, thus allowing her to travel and resolve a significant inconvenience, given the impossibility of using the car and the need to travel with replacement means. This story must serve as a warning to consumers. It is important to periodically monitor the status of your car insurance in order to avoid unpleasant surprises, as happened to our client.”
