Tepic, Nay. The Coloso del Pacífico baseball stadium, with a capacity for 9,200 people, was inaugurated this afternoon in the capital of Nayarit.
El Coloso is a project promoted by Governor Miguel Angel Navarro Quintero, and supported by both the former president of Mexico Andrés Manuel López Obrador, and the current federal government.
The stadium is located in the Santa Teresita neighborhood, a marginalized area of the state capital with high drug addiction problems.
“With a capacity for 9,200 fans, the new sports space has transformed everything that surrounds it, with complementary works such as remodeled streets, new lighting, increased public safety and other actions, nearby residents saw changes for the better in their surroundings, even allowing them to set up new businesses and add value to their homes,” the state government reported.
Finally, it was reported that “from November 9 to 14, the Coloso del Pacífico stadium will host the best baseball teams in the world, providing a vibrant sports experience and a unique connection with the sports talent of Nayarit.”
The Colossus of the Pacific is also “a cultural and social engine for Tepic and the state of Nayarit,” he pointed out.
