The Giusti kitchen center of Milano Ristorazione reopens after the redevelopment works started last year. With a production capacity of 1,600 meals a day, the crucial activity for the supply of food to schools in the area resumes at full speed.
The redevelopment intervention
The renovation of the center was possible thanks to a loan of 400 thousand euros. With the redevelopment, the functionality and efficiency of the center was improved. As the Municipality of Milan itself explains, great attention was given to maintaining high hygiene standards and improving safety conditions for workers.
Milano Ristorazione and the Municipality of Milan have also chosen to carry out here one of the actions of the pilot project aimed at the redevelopment of primary school refectories, as part of the European Food Trails project with Horizon 2020 funds.
“The works that led to the reopening of the Giusti kitchen center have improved efficiency and quality in the work and preparation of food, a sign of the great attention that the Municipality of Milan and Milano Ristorazione give to the implementation of the Food Policy in particular for everything that it concerns school catering”, explained the deputy mayor and councilor for education with responsibility for food policy, Anna Scavuzzo.
