So far in 2024, Oaxaca has notified 626 new diagnoses of breast cancer and the 85 percent of these correspond mainly to women who live in Central Valleys.
In terms of incidence, after Valles Centrales, the two jurisdictions with the highest number of cases are the Isthmus and Tuxtepec.
The 626 cases include 14 diagnosed in men11 of them in the Central Valleys, two in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec and one in the Sierra. Neither the Costa, Mixteca or Tuxtepec have detected cases in men.

The symptoms that may occur due to breast cancer can be combined, but they are usually a nodule or thickening in the breast that does not necessarily have to involve pain; change in the size, shape or appearance of the breast; dimpling, redness, cracks, or other skin changes; change in the appearance of the nipple or surrounding skin (areola); and discharge of abnormal or bloody fluid from the nipple.
